SUSTAINABILITY at the Blue Mountains Winter Magic Festival.
In an effort to minimise contamination of the 3 waste streams we will have 9 Staffed Rubbish Rooms throughout the festival. Each will contain 6 bins or 2 sets of:
GREEN: Organic waste - food scraps, biodegradable packaging, paper, serviettes
YELLOW: Recycling - cans, bottles, recyclable plastics, glass
RED: General waste - everything else
The Rubbish Rooms will be continually staffed by volunteers, assisting festival patrons as to the right bin to use.
Note: the street bins will be covered and not in use for the day.
This will help to reduce mixed waste going to landfill, as well as minimising mess and confusion.
