2018–2019 WMF committee members and volunteers needed

2018–2019 WMF committee members and volunteers needed

We have our Annual General Meeting on 26 November 2018 and we are looking for committee members, a treasurer, and people who are interested in volunteering for key positions, including coordination roles. There is something on our team for everyone and this festival has run for 25 years on the good will of volunteers.

Working on Winter Magic is a great opportunity to gain skills in community arts projects, organising events, festival waste management, business systems, communications, community management and governance, project management, and getting to know the Blue Mountains community at an intimate level while working with a wide variety of people. As we crank up for 2019, it's a chance to be involved with relaunching this much-loved community event and developing a new framework for a sustainable festival.

The committee has worked so hard this year to get the festival on a solid footing. We meet fortnightly at Hotel Blue in Lurline Street, and our meetings are respectful, happy, and productive. We ask only that you are prepared to roll up your sleeves, and that if you say you are going to do something, you are prepared to see that it is done in a responsible and ethical way. While we don't pay you, the rewards are many, and roles like these are a good way for people who are looking to enter or reenter the workforce to demonstrate what they are capable of (employers do take notice).

We hope to see you at a meeting soon!
